Our implant consists of a closed-loop interface that turns complex neural data into a simple string of ones and zeros, much like a black and white camera for the brain. We introduced three-dimensional nano-architecture to the sensing and stimulating electrodes to achieve faster, more precise, and vastly multiplexed transfer of information.
